Awareness of Self

self portrait on cardboard done with a pencil, a white colored pencil and a paint pen. The cardboard was pretty warped by the time I got to it because it was the back of my large watercolor drawing pad and I had been using is as an inking practice board for over 2 years. I never really noticed what a great color and texture it had until a few days ago when I started experimenting with value.
It's been a while since I've done artwork on my own. It feels good to pick up the ol' pencil again.

I know the hands look a bit disjointed from the body, and there is some strange shading and warping in the paper, but hopefully we can look past that and appreciate some of the good stuff it has.

p.s. the red marks aren't blood. Like i said, it's the back of an old drawing pad so it had a lot of random, weird marks on it.
